The Efficient 1.8 Liter V4 Hybrid For The 2010 Prius

The Prius has become the leading hybrid brand, making it a choice for folks demanding high fuel efficiency along with comfort. The current Prius engine has a 1.8 liter V4 with 98 horsepower and 105 foot-pounds of torque. That’s a relative weak engine when compared to the Corolla’s 1.8 liter V4 which delivers 132 horsepower.

However, people aren’t buying the Prius as a muscle-car. The Prius gets 51 MPG in the city and 48 MPG on the highway. It may seem odd that the city number is higher, but the electric engine does most of the work in the city, offsetting the stop-and-go nature of urban driving; the eclectic engine idles more efficiently.
